Going Green or Green Going ??!!??

Of recent, at my work place, there have been a lot of discussions regarding going green and how to save the place we live from global warming and make it a live-able place for us and also for the future generations. Some of the things that we can follow on a daily basis are:

1. Use public transportation or office provided cabs.
2. Switch off the PC monitor whenever you are out of your place, even for few minutes.
3. Everyday, before leaving for the day, put off your PC on hibernation mode.
4. On all Fridays, shut down the computer.
5. Switch off lights in meeting rooms, when not in use.
6. Reduce the usage of paper cups. Use porcelain cups instead.
7. Avoid usage of paper cups for drinking water. Use water bottles instead.
8. When in traffic or at traffic signals, switch off the bike or car. This will reduce fuel consumption and also pollution.
9. Do not litter in public places.
10. Reduce the usage of polythene covers.
11. Plant some plants at home.
12. Think before printing documents. And, always print on both the sides of the paper.
13. Reduce the usage of elevators. If its just about a few floors and you are physically capable, climb up/down the stairs.
14. Switch off all equipments when not in use.
15. Check here to reduce PC power consumption
    

There is one last main point. "Educate the younger generation."
